3_1 My First Blog Post

One of the items that resonated with me in this week’s module links was a comment in How to Teach Digital Citizenship Through Blogging that, “Some schools “tick the box” by covering digital citizenship in the first few weeks of the school year and then move on.” In order for my company to use web technologies in our classroom and/or out in the field, we will need to be continuously diligent about reminding our employees on the importance of being a good digital citizen. However, as I continue to learn about the possible tech tools that can be used in the classroom, I foresee our training department making many changes to our current teaching methods. It will be a slow process, but the benefits to technology in the classroom will transform the way we do things, much the same way it has changed the k-12 arena. I think these tools will provide new ways to teach, collaborate and learn while providing students who have typically been confined to a chair in a class, a new, and hopefully better alternative method to learning.
